Book Blog Hop: August 27-30, 2010

Book Blogger Hop

Here is another installment of the book hop that was made by the lovely Jennifer over at Crazy-For-Books.com

The book blog hop is a great way to meet new bloggers and to see other great blogs out there. I have luckily seen a lot of them and met some really great people from the Hop. I recommend all of you to pop over there and check it out, maybe enter your own blog to the Hop.

So, this week's question is:

Do you use a rating system for your reviews and if so, what is it and why?

My answer: I have a very unique rating system that I use for books and movies. I use black nail polishes to rate reviews. I use four nail polishes for the books/movies I absolutely love, three for the one I enjoyed, two for the ones I like but wouldn't read again, and one for the one I hated dreadfully. I use these because of the title of my blog and everyone uses the stars and thumbs up or thumbs down. I wanted something different, and since my blog has a unique name, it needed a unique rating system. So, behold the nail polish system! I love it and I hope my readers love it to!

If you have a rating system for your blog or even just if you had to rate something in discussion, tell me in the comments above and please make your way over to Crazy-For-Books.com.

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha

True Blood--Season 3, Episode 10: "I Smell A Rat"

Ep. 34: I Smell a Rat - Recap

Sookie's a faery! Finally! I knew it all along but I was waiting for them to finally reveal it. It wasn't actually what I was eexpecting though. Like in Twilight when Edward confirms that he is a vampire and Stefan and Damon reveal they are vampires to Elena, it was a big production. This one was so nonchalant. "Sookie, you're a faery." "I'm a faery." "Pretty much." "That's cool." "By the way, faeries kill people." "Whaaat?" That was pretty much it and then they moved on. I was expecting more from you, Bill. You finally find out what Sookie is and it's no big deal. Whatever.

Lafayette and Jesus race to the hospital but knowing that Crystal's father would die, Lafayette goes to his house and gives him V so he is able to heal. His wounds clear up and he is concious again but is furious that Lafayette gave him "vamper juice". While he stalks off, Crystal tries to talk to him but he quickly disowns her saying that she should have stuck with marrying Felton and sticking with her kind.

Sam sits at home thinking about the past...when he was a jewelry thief with his lover, Charlene. She double crosses him though with her boyfriend, Jon. He tracks the couple down who cheated him and kills them both in cold blood. He is holding a bottle of whiskey when he comes upon their makeshift graves.

Eric is getting his will revised with Pauline watching with great concern. He says that Russell will murder him because of Talbot's death. Pauline walks away when Yvetta signs the will because she's a witness.

While Tara finally tells Sookie what Franklin did to her, Bill instructs Jason on how to protect Sookie from werewolves. Tara thanks Jason for being a good friend and after they kiss, Jason is overcome with guilt and spills that he killed Eggs. Tara is so shocked, she just walks out.

Arlene comes clean to Terry that the baby is not his. Instead of getting angry, he embraces her and tells her that he will treat thatt baby as his own and give it as much love as he possibly can. Nevertheless, Arlene goes up to Holly the Wiccan waitress and asks her how she can end her pregnancy.

Hoyt finally heard my constant screaming and told Jessica that he loves her for who she is. He even broke up with Summer to be with her. She waits too long to respond and Hoyt storms out. Tommy chases after him and gets in his face. Hoyt punches him and keeps on walking. Tommy phases into a pitbull and attacks Hoyt. Jessica hears his screams and runs out to save him, she throws the dog and tells Hoyt she loves him too and to drink her blood.

Bill wakes up to find that Sookie is not with Jason. Bill yells at Jason that he wasn't doing his job, Jason is fed up with letting people down and revokes Bill's invitation. Once he shuts the door on Bill, he hears a sound in his bedroom. He goes to investigate and sees a black panther in his room that shifts into Crystal.

Eric joins Sookie in his office at Fangtasia. She yells at him for locking her in the door and that she's no prisoner. He says she is and takes her to the basement to be strapped to chains.

True Blood--Season 3, Episode 9: "Everything is Broken"

Ep. 33: Everything Is Broken - Recap

I'm baaack! Luckily! I will have all the posts I need to update on here today, so keep checking back here all day today to get some book and movie updates!

Right now, I will update on the two True Blood episodes I have missed these past two weeks! This one was two weeks ago, where we go back to Russell who comes upon Talbot's....um, guts, I guess. He wants revenge with Eric even though Eric isn't even done with his revenge though. The vampire "police" let him deal with instead of them cutting in, I'm thinking that vampires strongly believe in revenge (Twilight, True Blood, Vampire Diaries, etc)...it's everywhere!

Bill also finds out what Sookie is but we don't here what it is yet. He goes into the world that Sookie dreamed of because Sookie's blood still lingered in Bill. He discusses what she is with that one weird lady that keeps saying "you'll take away her light".

If you didn't see it in the recap, FRANKLIN'S STILL ALIVE?! What the....? I screamed when I saw him appear but strangely, I was a little happy. I think Tara and him could be a good couple if he didn't rape and abuse her and forced her to be his *Franklin accent* "vampire bride"! Luckily, Jason stepped into save Tara. Poor Franklin forgot Jason had wooden bullets up in that gun!

This episode wasn't action-packed but it wasn't disappointing either. I loved the ending with Russell, not because of his long speech but at the end when he turned to another camera and said "Now time for the weather, Tiffany?" HA-larious!

Alisha

Book Blogger Hop: August 20-23, 2010

Book Blogger Hop
Hi, all! I'm back from a very long first week of school. Luckily, most of my homework is done, I'm going to catch up on my blogging and FanFic so I won't behind all that much when the week starts!

I was skimming through Shelfari and found two new blog sites I love: Crazy For Books and A Book Lover's Opinion! So, I decided to take part in Crazy For Books' Blog Hop that she has going on every week. I love meeting new blogs and it's a great way to meet new people and share your common interests. So, hop (pun intended) on over there if you like meeting new people and seeing other blogs!

This week's question is:
How many blogs do you follow?

My answer: I follow around 29 blogs, most likely more than that. I am a big Twilight fan and ex-Twilight blogger, so I have a lot of blogs I know of and are affiliated with that deal with Twilight. I have a good chunk of book blogs I read now and even some cupcake blogs (I love cupcakes!). Other than the majority blogs, the rest of the blogs I follow are focused around shows and other books I love (Vanpire Diaries, True Blood, The Mortal Instruments series, etc). I try to visit everyone or at least see the title of what they posted (hence the site list on my sidebar). If I do read one of their posts, I try to comment or spread the word on most of the entries but don't always get to...like school for instance. But, I do like getting to know the blogs I'm reading and the bloggers that created them.

Tell me how many blogs you follow and what they mostly consist of...

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha

P.S. Don't forget to go over to the 'I Love Your Blog' Award Icon Contest post! The contest ends August 31st! You have the chance to win a copy of Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare!

Two More Books in the Mortal Instruments Series

I was patrolling around the blogs, Goodreads, and author websites, when I found two things I've never seen before:

Obviously, I was going off my rocker when I found out that TWO (yes, two) more books whave been added to the lovely Mortal Instruments series! Here is the official article fomr Publisher's Weekly:
Simon & Schuster has signed books five and six in Cassandra Clare's bestselling YA series, The Mortal Instruments. S&S says there are more than three million copies of the series' three published titles in print. Clare launched The Mortal Instruments in 2007, with City of Bones, about a teenage demon slayer; City of Ashes and City of Glass followed. Book four, City of Fallen Angels, is scheduled for April 2011... The two new books under contract--City of Lost Souls and City of Heavenly Fire--are scheduled, respectively, for May 2012 and September 2013.

Clare will also be touring, in late August, to promote Clockwork Angel, which is the first title in the prequel series to The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices. Film rights to The Mortal Instruments have been optioned by Unique Features.
So, if you're a Mortal Instrument fan like me, get ready for the romance and Jace hottness to comense!

Review: Beastly by Alex Flinn

“a must-read for fairy-tale fans.” (School Library Journal )
“Teens will race to see if the beast get his kiss, lifts the curse, and lives happily ever after.” (Kirkus Reviews)

“[An] engrossing tale that will have appeal for fans of fantasy and realistic fiction” -- VOYA. (Voice of Youth Advocates (VOYA) )
I am a beast.

A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright—a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.

You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever—ruined—unless I can break the spell.

Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly. Amazon

I read this book about a week ago after finding it in the Young Adult section. This was one book that once I started I couldn't stop...and I pushed my summer reading back even further. *cough* I'm a sucker for good remakes of classics, this one was of Beauty and the Beast.

The plot was an obvious plot. A very gorgeous guy gets turned into a beast because he is ugly on the inside and the witch turned him ugly on the out. Then he has to find a girl who will love him for him, which turns out to be an average girl. Even with the obvious plot and ending, I did love the writing and the characters and emotion in the writing made me love the book.

Speaking of the characters...AH-mazing! Of course, the characters did make the whole book, even though they were somewhat predictable. Kyle was a good character but he got on my nerves when it came to him talking about looks. Even when he was a beast, looks were still everything to him. He did develop well in the book though, the progression of Kyle becoming a "Beauty" of his own was nice to see. To me, everyone cares about looks and Kyle did draw them out a lot but by the end of the book, they are still there but not in the wrong ways.

I loved Lindy in this story. She was a good natural girl...if that makes sense. Like any other girl, she was peeved and frightened at first. She is a great character for the book beacause she gives Kyle a wake up check. I certainly loved the parts where Kyle was obsessing with her because she wasn't warming up to him. And, I loved her during the part of the "dance" you all know in the classic story, but it's not the exact same "dance" with the yellow dress and all that.

I recommend this Young Adult and romance readers. It was an amazing read and I think other than Starcrossed, Beastly was one of my favorite summer reads. I give this book a four out of four for the great plot and writing, along with the amazing characters.
P.S. There will be a film adaption, I've seen the trailer. After reading the book, it doesn't look like the film will be ANYWHERE near as good as the book, so I recommend you guys read the book before you go see the movie. Before watching the trailer below, there are two key ideas in the book that obviously were overlooked in the movie: 1) Kyle is supposed to be a beast, with fur, claws, and all. and 2) Lindy is supposed to have red hair. Of course, I will go see the movie but after readnig the book, I think there will be a lot of "That wasn't in the book!" comments in my section.

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha

Vampire Kisses 7: Love Bites Review

As a mortal girl dating a vampire, Raven knows that love isn't always easy. Now that Alexander's parents have returned to Romania, Raven and her dreamy vampire boyfriend are happy to resume their cryptic romance.

But soon another visitor comes knocking: Sebastian, Alexander's best friend, arrives for a stay at the mansion. At first Raven is wary, then thrilled—this is the perfect chance to learn more about her darkly handsome boyfriend and his past. Raven has been wondering whether Alexander will ever bite her and make their love immortal, and Sebastian could be her guide to the love habits of Alexander and his kind. But when Sebastian falls for a particular Dullsvillian, will another mortal beat Raven to the bite?

With suspense, danger, and a fabulous vampire party, this seventh book in the bestselling Vampire Kisses series continues the exciting nocturnal romance of Raven and Alexander. Amazon

If any of you guys have been reading my blog, you know I am of a big fan of Vampire Kisses...and Ellen Schreiber! Finally, I have read the book I have been longing to read.

So, I read the book and I can honestly say, I was very pleased! With the seventh installment in the series, Raven and her hottie McHottikins of a boyfriend are faced with the biggest problem since Jagger...Alexander's best friend. Sebastian was a serious fresh of breath of air. He gives a complete new twist on the town of Dullsville. He is impulsive and immatue, which gave the story new insight. He falls in love with a certain someone and is slightly...stalkerish, to the point where I was even getting fed up with it! I could truly see Sebastian as a permanent fixture in the series if he just doesn't try to do anything stupid, like falling in love with the wrong person.

As for Alexander and Raven, I was surly disappointed. I wanted more romance, they have their major problems out of the way and they STILL can't be a couple together. They have to scrape together the only moments when Raven isn't in school, Alexander isn't sleeping or hanging with Sebastian, and they aren't trying to pry Sebastian away from his immature love sickness. I wanted more romance and obviously by the ending of this book, they aren't getting it any time soon.

Along with the love between Raven and Alexander being on hold, Raven's chances of being changed are as well. You will still be left with the question, Will Raven be changed?, hanging over your head. Was this a spoiler? If you read the series, not really. I'm slightly ticked off because I wanted some progression of one side to be enhanced throughout the series. Every book, Raven tells Alexander what it would be like for them and Alexander disagrees and it's left at that. I wanted something to be brought up in this book that Alexander was going to turn her or he was going to leave their relationship the way it was, she's fully ready to be changed.

So, I give this book a three out of four nail polishes because I loved the plot, the romance, and the characters but I wanted progression in the book and in the series and there was none of that in this book, I'm hoping Cryptic Cravings will set everything back in motion since Ellen Schreiber did say, on her official website, that:
"At this time, I am contracted for eight books. But who knows--I didn't think think there would be any after the first."
So, we'll have to see what happens in Cryptic Cravings, which is set to release in May 2011.
Peace and Fangs,
Alisha

True Blood--Season 3, Episode 8: "Night on the Sun"

This episode is my new favorite for this season of True Blood! Everything happened, even if I didn't want it too...kinda.

Let's start out with the beginning where we go back to Sookie and Bill in the hospital. After Lafayette forces Alcide (HOT!) and everyone else to get out of the room so they can talk, Sookie tells Bill that she has been waiting ever since they met for something to get better. Her water tears and his blood tears made me cry tears because of their exchanges of "I love you"s and breaking it off right there. For the first time in my life, I didn't want to hear Jace Everett sing "Bad Things".

We move on to Bill telling Jessica that he can't live with her anymore. Jessica pleas for him not to and to stay with her. Bill begins to teach her how to fight off werewolves. (Obviously something's coming!)

When it comes to the other characters: Tara goes back to having freak-outs, all of them centered around the recently deceased Franklin. (I knew she had some feelings towards him!) Arlene has a dream about Rene because she is pregnant with his baby. Jason sees Crystal who shows up to his door with a black eye. She tells him, she was beaten by her family. He goes to her place where he is about to comfront her family but runs into someone eating some type of animal, he gets out of there  freaked out. Sophie-Ann moves into Russell's mansion. Talbot is bored and starts to break things. Eric says he will entertain Talbot, after playing games and...stripping for Talbot. He kills Talbot in a sense of revenge towards Russell for killing off his family. He tells Hadley to go tell Sookie that Russell and the werewolves are coming for her. Alcide returns to Mississippi because Debbie burned down his sister's salon.
While all this is going on, one of the most important relationships, to me, in this season has blossomed again! Lafayette and Jesús, I'm so happy for you! See, Lafayette's mother escaped the institution and went to Lafayette's. Jesús comes looking for her and meanwhile, rekindles his romance with Lafayette. Again, I was squeeling with glee as they got back together.

Debbie goes to Sookie's house while Russell and the werewolves go to Bill and Jessica's. Jessica and Bill fight off the werewolves before Russell senses Talbot dead and Eric saves Bill and Jessica. Sookie fights with Debbie. Bill and Jessica protect  Sookie and Bill and Sookie celebrate by having make-up sex.

Awesome episode, but totally messed up!

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha

Water For Elephants Review

As a young man, Jacob Jankowski was tossed by fate onto a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. It was the early part of the great Depression, and for Jacob, now ninety, the circus world he remembers was both his salvation and a living hell. A veterinary student just shy of a degree, he was put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It was there that he met Marlena, the beautiful equestrian star married to August, the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. And he met Rosie, an untrainable elephant who was the great gray hope for this third-rate traveling show. The bond that grew among this unlikely trio was one of love and trust, and, ultimately, it was their only hope for survival. Barnes & Noble

It took me some time to read this because of my busy schedule. (Thank you to Trixie and Tess for the wonderful book!) But, alas, I have finished it and am here to give you guys my review.

When I first started reading this book, it started off in...old Jacob's visit, he was in a retirement home. Instantly, I could see he didn't belong there. And, that there were secrets he was hiding from not only the other residents but from the readers. The secrets start out in the book where we go back to Jacob as a college boy.

This book is something I haven't read in awhile. Suspenseful. There are so many twists and turns in this book that at one point I had trouble keeping up. Each character has secrets that are announced further into the book or not at all and your left wondering. I liked the constant surprises in this book and the slight romance that started to illuminate between two characters. However, I kind of did not agree with it for one reason, it's a very obvious one of course. But, anyways, the romance and suspense is what really triggered me to read even faster to see how the book turns out. After watching (or reading) everything unfold, to me, the ending was slightly predictable on what happens to the characters but the very, very ending made a smile play on my face.

Overall, this is a book I can see being turned into a classic years from now. (Like a circus version of Catcher in the Rye.) It has all the aspects of a great book and something in there for everyone. I'm not surprised this was a New York Bestseller (#1 at that) and how it is being turned into a movie. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if it will join the criteria for summer reading lists.

So, I give this book a widely deserved four out of four nail polishes for the great suspense, unraveling romance, and twist and turns that made this book a classic for me. I recommend everyone read this book. It has enough romance and enough suspense to keep guys and girls entertained.

You can get movie information here.

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha

Wanted Wedensday: Vampire Kisses 8: Cryptic Cravings

*UPDATE* 12/27/10: Check out the summary here!
It doesn't take a genius to know...I love vampire books. Including ones that have AH-lot of romance. This week for Wanted Wedensdays, I have chosen a book that won't be out until next year. *sniffle* I came upon this series about a year ago and loved it SO much, I bought the whole book series which I rarely ever do. Vampire Kisses is one vampire series, I keep up with and adore. Recently, like last week *cough*, I had read the seventh book in the series which came out in May of this year. After reading this book, I'm impatiently wriggling in my seat for 2011 to come for the eighth book: Cryptic Cravings. The seventh book leaves off with a cliff-hanger that made my jaw drop because Ellen Schreiber has never done that to me...and the rest of the fans. But, she has given us two things to keep us waiting for the eighth book: a release date and the cover.
Loooove it!

The book is set to release around May 2011! Sadly, the book doesn't have a synopsis yet but I will post it once I see it. If you have not heard of the Vampire Kisses series, please check it out here!

Along with Cryptic Cravings, I will say I'm looking forward to Ellen Schreiber's new series coming out, Once in a Full Moon. It is a werewolf romance series and the first book is due out on December 8th (my birthday!). You can check out the synopsis below:

"Beware of a kiss under the full moon. It will change your life forever.

Celeste Parker is used to hearing scary stories about werewolves—Legend’s Run is famous for them. But when, after an unnerving visit with a psychic, she encounters a pack of wolves and gorgeous, enigmatic Brandon, she must discover whether his transformation is more than legend or just a trick of the shadows in the moonlight. Brandon may be Celeste’s hero, or he may be the most dangerous creature she could encounter in the woods of Legend’s Run.

The bestselling Vampire Kisses author, Ellen Schreiber, weaves together psychic predictions, generations-old secrets, a town divided, and the possibility of falling in love with a hot and heroic werewolf—the perfect formula for what happens...once in a full moon." Source

Tell me what you think of Cryptic Cravings, the Vampire Kisses series, and Ellen Schreiber's new series, Once in a Full Moon.

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha

True Blood: Season 3, Episode 7--"Hitting the Ground"

This week's episode....Blew. My. Mind. For weeks, I have been left with questions and I will admit...I was on the verge of stop watching. Stay with me! It gets better. This week has set me back in motion on why I watch this show. Suspense...and love (sort of). Let's get down to the episode!

So, last week, we were stuck with the scene of Sookie finding Bill in the shed where Lorena camped out to watch him die slowly. (Disgusting!) This week we are brought back to the shed where Lorena is drinking from Sookie. Bill builds up the strength to wrap a silver chain around Lorena's neck and make her fall to the fall with him on the bottom of her. He tells Sookie to stake Lorena, Sookie hesistates for a minute where Lorena proclaims her "love" for Bill. Sookie stakes her before Tara and Alcide make their way to the shed.

They tell Sookie they have to leave because the wolves would be coming soon. Tara and Sookie roll Bill up in a carpet vampire burrito before Alcide's ex, Debbie, walks in. They argue with one another and she pulls a gun on all three of them. Alcide takes the gun from her and once Coot, Debbie's current boyfriend, tries to pick a fight, Alcide shoots him dead. Tara and Sookie take Bill out of the shed and towards the truck Alcide was driving. Alcide locks Debbie inside the shed and goes to help Sookie and Tara. Sookie stays in the back with Bill while Tara and Alcide go to the front. While Tara and Alcide out run the werewolves, Sookie tries to help Bill wake up by giving her blood to him. He drinks some of her blood but becomes too excited and starts to bite and drink from her in her arms and on her neck.

Tara and Alcide check the back and see Sookie is passed out with multiple bites. Tara throws Bill out like a good friend and leave him in the sunlight to get to the hospital. While the hospital try to give Sookie a blood transfusion, her body rejects it. Tara calls Jason to tell him that Sookie is in the hospital. (Quick catch-up with Jason: He talks to Hoyt about being depressed about Crystal, Hoty suggests Jason go talk to the meth addict that's in lock up. Jason goes down and the meth addict happens to be Crytal's cousin. They both come to an agreement that the meth addict will tell Jason whatever he wants about Crystal if he gets him-surprise! surprise!-meth. Jason agrees and tries to get some from Lafayette who declines to give him some and who is with him when Tara calls.) Lafayette and Jason get to the hospital and they find out that Sookie doesn't have a blood type. The three of them sit around while Alcide tries to talk to the nurse and remember old times and give Sookie encouragment.

While Sookie is out, she dreams of a place that looks like heaven. (Sadly, the orange hue and everyone dressed in white almost blinded me.) She explores the place with a random chick and drink water that's the best thing she ever tasted. (I'm totally lost by this whole thing by the way, so if you're confused by reading this, it was worse trying to figure it out by watching it.) Some how Bill shows up at the hospital still intact and angers Tara. The three of them fall asleep though and leave Bill to watch it. Sookie's dream takes a negative turn when darkness roams over the heavenly world. All the people escape in the water and the weird chick tells Sookie to get in the water but Sookie refuses. When they are all awake, Bill tells Jason he can save Sookie if he gives her his blood. Even though Tara argues to not let him do it, Jsaon complies. Bill puts the IV directly into his vein. Sookie then wakes up to Bill where for a slight second it seems peaceful and then Sookie screams a bloodcurdling scream, which had me pretty scared myself, I wasn't expecting that.

During this, Sam goes to the dog fight his family is at and turns into a bull dog to get where the cages are. The men, obviously, take him into the cages. He turns back quickly and takes out one of the men. Tommy starts his fight with a pit bull but is quickly cut short when Sam tricks the alarm and lets the dogs run wild. He finds Joe Lee and Melinda over Tommy's side. Sam scares off the pit bull and goes to Tommy's side. He tells Joe Lee to give Tommy his clothes (Joe Lee seems to always end up in his underwear). Sam gives Tommy the choice to either stay with him to give him a normal and stable life or stay with Joe Lee and Melinda and continue the dog fights. Tommy goes with Sam and leaves their parents there.

Sophie, the Queen of Mississippi, is locked in a silver cage and is interrogated by Eric about why she's so interested in Sookie. She doesn't tell. Eric turns to one of her feeders who tells him (which they don't say out loud) and is turned by Eric. They go to Fangtasia along with Russell where Pam is being tortured. Eric tells him to stop. Russell ties the man up and tells him to marry him and Sophie (which confused me because I thought he had a lover back in Lousiana which he does and I'm still confused...). The man does but Russell is still not satisfied. He decaptates the man leaving the women shocked.

Tell me what you thought of this week's episode. What do you think about Sookie screaming at Bill? Do you think Tommy will stay with Sam or go back with his parents? Did Eric ever have any feelings for Sookie? What do you think Sophie's feeder told Eric?

P.S. Am I the only one that thought this week's Post-Mortem was a little bit disturbing?

Check out next week's episode, Night on the Sun:

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha

The world's greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes. IMDb

Even though I watched this movie over a week ago, I still remember the movie fondly in my head. This is a cartoon movie and I was iffy about seeing it, but after I saw that Pixar was behind it, I was all for it. (Seeing a cute movie like Up and the Toy Story series, I have to go see all the Pixar movies. I went to go see it in 2D and I completely think you should go see it in 2D. I don't understand the concept of 3D and absolutely hate that every movie is now being made into 3D (even horror movies, sadly). But, this movie is awesome in 2D, if you aren't able to watch it in 3D. It's just appropriate enough for kids to go see it but also for teens and adults to get a few laughs (I know I was laughing out loud). The movie is also cute and has a good moral to the movie like all Pixar movies. It's a good family film and I encourage all adults and teens to go see it. I went with a friend and we both thought it was the cutest movie this summer (besides Toy Story 3). Steve Carell does an amazing job with Gru and the little girls are the cutest. I have to say that the minions do make the movie. The plot is fantastic and the ending is something that makes you go "Aww" and then make you laugh your butt off. Please give this movie a try, it was worth the six bucks I spent.

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha
